Ingredients

~ 12 lasagna noodles
~ 4 cups mozzarella cheese
~ 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
tomato sauce
~ 1/2 pound lean ground beef
~ 1/2 pound Italian sausage
~ 1 onion (diced)
~ 3 garlic cloves (minced)
~ 36oz pasta sauce*
cheese mixture
~ 2 cups ricotta cheese
~ 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
~ 1 egg (beaten)
notes:
*This recipe calls for about 1 cup of sauce for each layer. If you prefer more, increase pasta sauce to 48oz.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil lasagna noodles. Once cooked rinse under cold water and set aside.
2. Lean ground beef, sausage, onion and garlic over medium heat. Drain any fat from the bottom of pan.
3. Sir in pasta sauce, tomato paste and seasonings and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. In a separate bowl, make cheese mixture. Combine mozzarella, parsley and egg.
5. Add 1 cup of sauce to the bottom of your baking pan. Top with 3 noodles, layer 1/3 of cheese mixture, add 1 cup of pasta sauce. Repeat this 2 more times. Finish with 3 noodles topped with remaining sauce.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
7. Uncover, sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake until brown.
8. Allow 10-15 minutes to rest before serving.
